this is a clever & brilliant interpretation (or rather, expansion) of the Alice In Wonderland story… i liked how it actually references the events in the book as history. the use of the characters is just fascinating– for example, the Mad Hatter is a protagonist, while the March Hare is an ANtagonist. that’s certainly new to me.
on a completely superficial note, the costumes are a joy to behold… Caterpillar’s coat, the Queen’s robes, the White Knight’s armor, etc. and speaking of the White Knight! Matt Frewer was simply amazing… in fact the entire cast was wonderful– even characters with small roles were memorable (Tim Curry jumps to mind immediately).

watch this! i disagree with the main review which says this dragged… even sitting down to view the entire miniseries as a three hour movie as i did, this was engaging and entertaining… actually i wouldn’t have minded more!

I’ve heard this on audio tape, and it’s just as funny, and makes perfect sense.
Just goes to show that the script, and these characters work fantastically together.

I totally LOVE this series! I was so sad when I read that it was canceled and I can’t understand why. Sure it took me a few episodes before I was hooked but isn’t it always like that?
They should have aired the whole season before canceling it because it takes about one season before the story can progress further. And the last episodes where the best ones!

You need to know a lot about them at first to get a “connection” to the cast. And if a serie starts with a lot of action it is just to much. I like it when it is a slow start. I am much more interested in the people and their lives then a lot of action and no story.

I really hope that they will make a season two anyway. That another tv-company takes them on.

I personally love this series and the 2nd season didn’t disappoint. JJ Abrams is a master of crafting a story and using metaphysical elements to keep us all off of our game. He did the same thing with Lost. Although Fringe doesn’t have the same inescapable drama that Lost had, it is still a high quality, well produced and acted show.

The series was canceled by the producers (Vivendi), who were going through financial issues.

And…most importantly, the fan campaign led to the release of the PKW movie, not Henson.

Great Sci-Fi series, maybe my favorite.

This series had great potential, and I would like to learn more about Beta and to see the Solar system trip end back on Mars where the previous mission has failed. Concept was really great, cast good and flashback story telling worked well. But the slow start, bad marketing (usual problem) and bad time slot managed to kill the show. It’s not the first one to end this way, and unfortunately it’s not the last.

I just recently bought this on DVD and I think it is an absolutely wonderfull series. I do have to agree that the build up to finally learning what Beta is was a little too lengthy. But on a better note the flash backs do show the story that lead up to all the characters being in the positon and relationships they are in. Everything considered I believe this is a very interesting series. I am very sad to have learned that it was cancelled and at this time there are no plans to continue the series.
