After two parter ending season 3, and the death of Wilsons girlfriend Amber, House and Wilson relationship has hit the rock bottom, and Wilson decides to leave to hospital and cut House from his life. And that's the story line in the beginning of the season 5. This time, we got full 24 episodes season and different episodes and story line structure than before, and that were not as good as the formula used in first four seasons.

Season 3 finale was really great and the unexpected turn of things has left House alone, without the team on the start of season 4. This season is shorter than usual due to the WGA strike, and only 16 episodes were produced. But, in some ways that even helped the writers to concentrate on the main storyline much more. And there is simply no bad episode in season 4. We also got several new cast members both regular and recurring.

Season 2 of House M.D. ended with the bang (watch and see) and with very interesting cliffhanger leaving much more things unknown. By the time third season started House M.D. became one of the highest rated series with very high number of viewers. The third season follows pretty much the same formula like first two seasons with two central multi episode arks in the first and second half of the season.

Season one of House M.D. was a big success for FOX, and starting with second season, House got much more attention, very much deserved. Series got several Emmy nominations and David Shore won Emmy for best writing for episode 'Three Stories' that explained how the House became a cripple. For the most part, season 2 has the same structure as the first one, but with more character development and better writing.

I really, really hate medical dramas. Or, at least I did until House MD started airing. And yes, except for House, I still hate all other medical dramas. Before House MD, all medical dramas used essentially the same formula, they use one dimensional approach showing the goodness and best of humanity in doctors dealing with patients, and rarely anything more than that. But, in 2004, creator David Shore changed all that with House.
