Season 7 of Star­gate SG-​1 ended with the dis­cov­ery of Atlantis out­post, and after that a new series was cre­ated set in another galaxy, in the city of the ancients Atlantis, under the name of Star­gate Atlantis. Series had 5 sea­sons with total of 100 episodes. While the series was good, it was nowhere near the qual­ity of orig­i­nal SG-​1, and that was the rea­son for lower rat­ings and ulti­mately can­cel­la­tion after only five seasons.

Now, for the first time, com­plete series is avail­able in the boxed set with all 5 sea­son with great pack­ag­ing. Box set is not the same for US and Europe, and US ver­sion is with spe­cial white col­lectible box.

Box set con­tains 26 DVD’s with all 100 episodes. There are not many changes from the orig­i­nal sea­sons sets, and there are no bonuses included. The only bonus DVD con­tains the pre­view and announce­ment for new Star­gate Universe.

Blu­Ray ver­sion of the set is still in devel­op­ment, and it’s sur­pris­ing that it hasn’t been released yet because all sea­sons are filmed in HD and were aired in HD. Hope­fully Blu­Ray ver­sion will be released soon. Until than, MGM has released a sin­gle Blu­Ray disc with full fea­ture and extended episode Rising.

Box Set has been released in US on octo­ber 6 with sticker price of $259.98, but on Ama­zon is avail­able with 42% dis­count for $152.99.

Blu­Ray with episode Ris­ing is called Star­gate Atlantis View­ers Choice and is avail­able for $19.99.
