Well, The Lost Room mini series is a real treat for all fans of fantasy and sci-fi genre, and to generally everyone who likes a good mystery. This is very well written and executed show, with great cast, and I have trouble finding something really bad in it. Maybe it deserved a bigger budget to get better visuals, or maybe that it would be great to see The Lost Room in standard series format that continues after the mini series ends.

Vampires? Supernatural? Both movies and series of the genre are popular ever since TV first started. And while some believe in the the forces of the supernatural, most of the people are skeptic, but still like to see a horror series on the TV. And while there are many adaptations of the original vampire and Dracula stories, this one is different. While you still have many familiar vampire elements, parts of the basic myth are changed.

Tin Man mini series is real treat. At first I thought that it's a remake of the Wizard Of Oz (and remakes are usually bad idea to make in the first place), but the Tin Man is much more. And also, to my surprise, story is better than the original story of Oz, and is actually continuation of the original story, set some 50-60 years after, but much more modernized, with some elements changes including change from Oz to O.Z.

This proved once again that even the great cast, top production, are simply not enough to make the successful show that will interest viewers or even touch they hearts. Maybe, too much was expected from adaptation of The Witches of Eastwick novel by John Updike to match the very good 1987 movie adaptation starring Jack Nicholson.

That's how season 4 ended and left us wondering about many things. And most important question is: where the hell the island has gone?! Lost writers managed to surprise all of us again with another great cliffhanger, and leave us for months waiting to find out what what's next.

SyFy (former SciFi) is well know for producing bad TV movies and bad mini series. But, the things are changing, and if you see last two miniseries are they made, we can expect more and more quality short content. First different one is Tin Man (I will watch this next week), and Alice that I am reviewing here. Alice is very good, it has some bad moments, but overall it's an enjoyable series with a spin on original story.

Shocking finale of season 3 was a complete game changer not only for Lost, but it set bar higher for any other TV series. After 3 seasons of flashbacks into the lives of plane crash survivors, flashbacks are now gone and they are replaced by flashforwards showing as group of Oceanic Six, survivors who are now saved and live back in the world away from the island. This season is about finding out how that happened.

Fantasy books are very popular, but for most cases it's very hard to make good TV series based on any of them. Generally, any type of fantasy TV series is hard to make, and that's why you can count on fingers such attempts. Long running fantasy series were Xena and Hercules in the nineties, but they were not really great productions. And now, again made in New Zealand we got new series created by Sam Raimi.
