Today is the four-month anniversary since TVScape went online. And, this 2009 is almost over, so it's a good time to go over this period, some numbers and ratings. You can see the list of the top rated series reviewed so far and for more ratings list, check the pages in the top menu, there are few. Also, first giveaway (Monty Python Almost The Truth DVD box set) is over, and you can read about results at th end of this post.

It's time to announce first giveaway, here on TVScape.NET. And the award will be DVD box set presented yesterday: Monty Python - Almost the Truth (3DVD's). This first giveaway will run for the two weeks, and will end on 23. december 2009. on the 4 month anniversary since TVScape.NET launched. It was bound to happen sooner or later with any group of very talented people. Even during the season 2 there was talks in stopping the circus after that season. But, they did third one, even though John Cleese wanted to go. But once the third season completed Cleese did left the Monty Python's. But, there was a lot of material he made still left, and some of that was used in sketches in shorter season 4, so he is still listed as creator.

Despite short life of Monty Pythons, all members of the troupe were very productive over the years. And John Cleese maybe the most productive of all. So, in the eighties, John created and starred in the two season series called Fawlty Towers, and he plays a small hotel owner. His wife at the time Connie Booth stars also, and plays the maid in the hotel. Now, the series is remastered and available in brand new box set.

After the end of second season of Flying Circus, and Pythons made almost 2 year break before putting together another season of the series. But, even with the start of this season, tensions between members of the troupe was on the rise and due the creative differences it was obvious that they can't continue working together for much longer. But before the real break up of the Pythons they managed to make some great stuff.

After the few months of casting, pilot of the Game of Thrones is started filming in Doune Castle in Scotland. That is the same castle used in 1975 for Castle Anthrax in the movie Monty Python's The Holy Grail. Series will have a big cast during the first season, but right now only pilot is fully cast because the series is not yet picked by the HBO. Pilot shooting should last for the few weeks, but air date is not yet confirmed.

Way back in the 1969, BBC has agreed to air 13 episodes of a show without the name, without the clear concept and content. Only after that a group of 6 young actors (and writers and musicians as it turns out) had named the new series Monty Python's Flying Circus by going through series of random names until they all agreed on Monty Python. So, the first episode of the legendary series aired on October 5 1969. on BBC One.
